Biography

Even though they only formed in late 2002, be9ine have already proven that they are here to stay. With an agressive, 'in-your-face', heavy sound, be9ine are to make an impact like no other. With a few bumps along their way, the boys have managed to land on their feet, not their knees, and are stronger than ever! Bassist Jess Tyrrell from Cranbourne and drummer Tim Le Souef from Langwarrin, built the base for be9ine, when deciding to leave a band they had been playing in for two years. After auditioning a wide range of vocalists, the right voice belonged to 22 year old Brett Suthers from Frankston.

Brett had been playing in various bands, but became tired of only playing guitar. He took a risk and decided to use his vocal talents to their full extent, choosing a microphone instead of a guitar. Time revealed that he made the right choice, and the only thing be9ine lacked now, was a guitarist. With former member Ben leaving within 10 months of playing, a guitarist was soon needed. This was certainly a test for each members patience as weeks of auditioning passed with no success.

However, out of nowhere, Darren Smith came along and successfully completed the lineup. The year 2004 brought with itself Troy, former DropGauge singer/ Dragonfly guitarist. Troy has increased the depth and fullness in the be9ine sound, and is now officially the second guitarist.
